in 2017 we had new UPVc flush fit windows fitted to our three bedroom detached house.
From the day the windows were fitted we had problems and issues.
A question I often ask myself, time after time. Is why did I pay the full amount knowing I wasn’t 100% happy.
The window company Ryburne Windows of Halifax kept fobbing us off with excuses after excuses.
They had our money and we felt powerless to do anything. They didn’t even have a formal complaints procedure. Which they were supposed to have being a CERTASS member.
The Director of Ryburne’s told us, “just keep on writing in as the buck stops with me”.
After many letters of complaint to the window company and CERTASS - who are a complete waste of time.
We decided after two and a half years of complaining we would instruct a Solicitor.
We went to see Whiterose Blackmans Solicitors LLP armed with many documents and photos of the poorly fitted and poorly manufactured windows.
Whiterose Blackmans Solicitors LLP instantly understood our predicament and agreed to take on our case.
Despite all the photographical evidence and a joint independent Royal Institute Chartered Surveyors (RICS) report into the manufacture and installation of the windows. The window company still wouldn’t accept the findings of the Surveyor’s report.
They even got a former associate of theirs recommended by CERTASS to do a desk top critic of the independent surveyor's report.
They failed on their attempt to introducing it as evidence to the courts. Thanks to a robust defence from Whiterose Blackmans Solicitors LLP.
With less than eight weeks before the reconvened hearing - May 2020, The window company decided to settle. After some tough negotiations by Whiterose Blackmans Solicitors LLP. We got our money back for the windows plus our legal expenses.

Civil issue
When I needed a solicitor for advice during a personal issue with a former employer I found that Wakash Waheed listened to the issue and gave very good advice. He fought my corner and I had a great outcome.

Successfully Set Aside Statutory Demand

Beyond Fantastic
Wakash was instructed to deal with a civil cease and desist on Friday 21/07/23, against two neighbours harassing me. By today (Tuesday) we had had our consult, but also the letters were written up and posted today and were 100% spot on. Lets just say, I would not like to be on the receiving end of one of those cease and desist letters from Wakash!
Fingers crossed my neighbours now stop their course of conduct against me, but if they do not, then I will definately be seeking more advice from Wakash going forwards.
100% reccommended.

Prompt, effective, understanding
Wakash helped me out with a small and personal civil matter.
He was swift to respond to my initial enquiry, was upfront about costs and timescales, regularly kept me up to date via e-mail and held an efficient and productive MS teams meeting with me to gather facts.
All in all a great service and I would recommend them.

Where do I even begin….
Wakash is a phenomenal solicitor. He dealt with a very personal matter, of high sensitivity. He put himself in my shoes and had a client centred approach. He kept in contact and updated me with all communications going on in the background. I honestly believe more solicitors should learn from him and his approach.
