Anita has been with the Firm since 1989. She joined as a Trainee Solicitor, before qualifying in October 1991 and eventually becoming a Partner in the Practice with effect from 1st January 1995. Since 2004 Anita has been the Firm’s Managing Partner, and in particular has been responsible for guiding the Firm through Lexcel Accreditation. Anita’s work is split between Family Law, Criminal Litigation and management of the Firm. With respect to Family Law, Anita is a Member of Resolution, which is an organisation of Family Lawyers who attempt to resolve family disputes and divorce on a non-confrontational basis. Having said that, if family disputes do have to be settled by the Court, then Anita has nearly 30 years’ experience of advocacy. Anita has undertaken all types of family work from matters concerning children to complex divorces involving several million pounds’ worth of assets. So far as Criminal Litigation is concerned, Anita is a Member of the Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme and is also a Police Station and Court Duty Solicitor. Her experience has involved her undertaking defence work of a wide nature ranging from the most serious crimes to constructing technical defences for motoring matters.

Cohabitation agreement
I have previously used Anita Toal and I wouldn't go to any other firm because she gives me all the information I need to make the correct decision. Anita gave me all the pros and cons of the agreement and what will need to happen in the future when my circumstances change in the relationship.

Anita - Family Court
I received excellent service from Anita. The advice that was given was very appropriate and put into language I could understand. Anita went above and beyond for me and the outcome was amazing! Professional knowledgeable helpful Solicitors

Simple & easy divorce proceedings
I was made aware at the very start the cost and actually got billed just under expected costs. I never had a problem or issue throughout the whole process. This is the second time I've used this firm for legal matters and I certainly won't hesitate for a third time.

Financial application
Anita Toal is a very professional lady so supportive so much legal knowledge and reassures you taking all the stress away. Family Law/Divorce
Anita has been, without question, fundamentally key to my divorce and family law process. She is not only clearly extremely experienced but also listened and carried out exactly what was asked. Anita is calm yet a force, she won for me what I asked of her and I am so grateful to her and her associates. Please look to Anita before going to a larger firm as on our experience she provided everything I would expect from a big city firm. Five stars though more if I could.

I would like to thank everyone I dealt with at Maples and in particular my solicitor Anita Toal. I was in a very distressing situation and everyone was supportive and reassuring.
