Graduate Legal Executive Bruna Williams, GCILEx, has experience within the law industry of over 15 years and 9 of which have been within Family & Matrimonial departments.
Bruna began her career as a Legal Secretary in various different departments (including Private Client) and ultimately decided that Family Law is where her heart is. Subsequently, upon completing her Law degree, Bruna began professional qualifications with the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX) and practised with Family First for several years as a Paralegal & Advanced Paralegal.
Furthermore, Bruna has recently completed the final stage of her course which is the Level 6 Professional Qualification to pass as a qualified CILEX Chartered Legal Executive and 2022-2023 will be her final year working against her CILEX Fellowship portfolio and practicing her expertise with us. However, Bruna has the right of audience within a Court and can represent clients for hearings (save for Fact-Finding Hearings & Final Hearings). Bruna’s cases are completed under full supervision of our company director who is a Solicitor and Deputy District Judge.
She has a particular passion for meeting our clients’ emotional needs and understanding the impacts of legal disputes on individual’s emotional well being. Bruna is patient, caring & understanding and she will listen to every detail of your matter whilst working out the best way forward.
Bruna has expertise in Divorce petitions (Applicant & Respondent), Children Act proceedings (Child Arrangements Orders, Enforcement/Variations, prohibited steps, and relocation), Non-Molestation and Occupation Orders, Domestic Abuse (a particular interest of Bruna’s) & matrimonial finances post separation.
Finally, Bruna has a desire to train to become a Solicitor-Advocate so that she can practice in the expert field of presenting complex cases (during Final Hearings or at Pre-Trial Review/Fact-Find) before the court, similarly to how a Barrister would after the ‘BAR’ exam, as well as training to become a Court advocate to represent clients in Domestic Abuse cases. She is hoping to undertake these courses after CILEX comes to an end in 2023 (she loves a challenge!).

Cannot fault the advice
This is the second time I have had to use Family First, having successfully obtained a court order giving me access to my daughter. A few years in and the relationship had broken down further, contact was getting less and more difficult, and eventually it stopped all together.
I went back to Family First and the advice I have been given was exactly what I needed, not what I thought I wanted. This is important because the system needs to be navigated carefully and FF are experts at this. So much so, that I now have a new order in place, more contact time, and more caveats that benefit me and my daughter.
Although the cost can be daunting, I was given fair warning about impending bills, and even had payment plans in place to help with the burden.
All in all, I am very happy with the service (and of course, the outcome) and would happily recommend the team to anyone looking for expert advice and guidance during what can only be described as the most difficult period of my life.
