Whilst contacting Maitland and Walker, first impressions when speaking to the receptionist was welcoming, warm and friendly. I explained my reasons for the call and how I was recommended by my financial advisor and a friend to see Anna Neil.
The receptionist then placed my call with Lee Lock, whom was equally welcoming, warm and friendly. I explained that my husband and myself needed to have a new Will written but was unsure about what type of Will was needed. We chatted for a while, Lee took our details and emailed information for us to read and think about, before our meeting with Anna. Forms were sent also, needing lots of information. Lee was super helpful and thorough, in preparation for our meeting.
Our planned meeting with Anna Neil, again, was equally welcoming, warm and friendly. Anna was professional and extremely knowledgable. Anna listened and gave honest advice, with reasons why our particular Will was best suited to our needs, helping us decide more easily about what Will to have written. Anna made us feel valued and at ease, making the whole experience feel less formal and more human. Both myself, and my husband felt really positive, without any doubts about decisions made in our will after our meeting with Anna.
It was a pleasure to meet the team at Maitland and Walker, we will definitely use this firm for any future work needed from now on. We are super happy.

excellent service and highly personable with it!
Creating a last Will and Testament can be difficult for many people especially if your circumstances are complicated. The process can be frightening. Anna from Maitland Walker keenly listened and quickly understood my ambitions and 'held my hand' through a myriad of various laws including providing guidance on inheritance tax. The whole process was painless, expeditious and whilst thoroughly professional it was also enjoyable. Thank you Maitland Walker.

Anna Neil
Anna dealt with our very (personally) difficult case involving my deceased grandad. The first few conversations we had with her she referred to him by the incorrect name, which made us all feel not only that she hadn't really read and understood the case but made us question how thorough she would be generally, as well as the obvious lack of care.
We spoke to Anna about our options early on and then further down the line she gave us more information/options that would have benefitted us if we had known earlier - it seemed to be more back and forth (expenses) than necessary.
Anna was also on annual leave when she received an important letter, which had a deadline. Although she pre-warned us that she would be away, she also said that her emails would be picked up and we would be notified if there was anything urgent. It ended up being that she returned from leave and we had 1 day to get back to the opposing solicitor. Thankfully they granted a few days extension for us to make a decision.
The outcome was not what we wanted and whatever happened it wouldn't have been, but I feel like the experience and costs getting to that point could have been better if we had more information and (possibly) better guidance earlier on which may have resulted in lower expenses our end.
