Claire qualified as a solicitor in September 2013. Claire has experience representing parties in complex care proceedings including those involving international elements (where the child may be placed abroad either with a parent or a family member), where non-accidental injury of the child has been alleged, where there are disputed allegations of domestic violence, where a parent’s learning disability is the main concern and where there are issues concerning mental health and drug misuse. In addition, Claire regularly advises parents where the local authority has concerns about a child but have not made an application to court, including attending Public Law Outline meetings with parents. Many of Claire’s clients are extremely vulnerable and have found themselves involved in court proceedings for the first time, her calm, and sensitive handling of their cases helps to reassure and support them through this difficult time in their lives. Claire is an excellent associate solicitor and was ranked under ‘Associates to watch’ in Chambers and Partners 2024 guide.     Lifesaver - calm in the storm

    Claire came into our Public Law case after going into our 4th year of proceedings following Private Law. She listened and understood the case very quickly. Advice was calming and focused. Claire understood what I had been trying to say as a Litigant in Persons (badly it would seem) but has settled things down. Claire can read through reports and see patterns and notices the smaller details. Claire made me feel like I was not going mad and brought back logic and narrative. She listens and is reasonable - human in her replies but logic and focused. Claire has brought me peace and taken a load off me so I can now become a parent again and not get bogged down in the paperwork. Fantastic and professional but also puts you at ease and feel heard and respected.
