I am a solicitor in the residential conveyancing team and am based in Blanchards Bailey’s Shaftesbury office. I qualified as a solicitor in 2016 and have worked in conveyancing since. I have previously worked at firms in Bournemouth and Christchurch, so I am familiar with the local area. I act on behalf of first-time buyers, property investors, developers, executors, attorneys, and private clients wishing to move house. I assist with property sales and purchases, re-mortgages, and transfers of equity – for both freehold and leasehold properties, whether unregistered or registered.
I qualified as a solicitor in 2016. I have worked in my current area of specialisation for 9 years. I oversee two other employees.
Providing excellent client service is always my key objective. I also aim to be personable, and approachable, and to provide concise legal advice without unnecessary jargon. This has certainly helped me to develop and maintain good relations with clients, which is essential if I am to understand their property needs.

Conveyancing for sale and purchase of properties.
Everything was handled promptly, efficiently and with a human face. Alice on reception always knew how to handle queries so it felt as if messages were being dealt with. Tess, a neighbour but she dealt with things completely professionally. Matt took time to explain things. And post contractual (!) service was good. THE reason I haven’t given five stars is because I just never do! Woops forgot POA where Helen was/is great. I know I need to get my act together to respond!

Amazing, totally on his game
We where over seas buyers of a property,
Matthew when over and beyond to make sure our best interests where always met,
There is a 4 hour time difference between England and the BVI’s and but Matthew would still answered questions that came up

Good service
I was very happy with Matt Collis through the whole process of selling our late mother's house - he was professional and easy to communicate with - although at times quite difficult to reach on the phone. I was a little less happy with the trainee secretary who we dealt with, as mistakes were made (sometimes repeatedly) which I had to take time to rectify when I was short of time and I had already provided all the relevant information to Blanchards Bailey. I understand though that she was a trainee but I would have been happier talking to someone with more experience when Matt Collis wasn't available.

First House Purchase
We purchased our very first home this year and were a bit overwhelmed by it all but found Matt was easy to deal with , very knowledgeable and kept us up to date the whole way through the process. As problems arose he sorted them quickly and efficiently taking all the worry and stress away from us. Thank you Matt.
