Kelly graduated from Northumbria University with a first class honours degree in Law. She joined McDaniels Law in 2008 as a Trainee Solicitor and remained with the firm following qualification. She is now a Director specialising in Intellectual Property. Kelly is CITMA and IPREG accredited. Kelly has experience across a range of IP matters, particularly in Trade Mark, Copyright and Design matters. This work includes both dealing with protection strategies and also enforcement and litigation matters having conducted cases on clients’ behalf in the Court of Appeal, High Court and the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court. Kelly has significant experience in Trade Mark matters including filing and prosecution of UK, CTM, foreign and Madrid trade mark applications, trade mark opposition and cancellation proceedings. In July 2015 Kelly dual qualified as a Chartered Trade Mark Attorney, further expanding her IP expertise. Kelly has a good commercial focus and is able to identify and assist in meeting clients' actual business needs. This enables her to give structured legal advice with a clear commercial focus. Previously, Kelly worked on secondment one day per week with a major UK fashion brand over a three year period and therefore has a significant understanding of brand management and development issues.

    Design registration made easy!

    What I like about McDaniels is their clear and sensible approach. Unlike some solicitors I have used, they are very commercially aware and as such offer balanced advice. There is no mysterious legal "fog" and it feels like Kelly and her team really understand our business and wider industry as a whole.

    Highly Recommend

    McDaniels were recommended to me by another small business and they did not disappoint.     IP Audit

    Sofa design Infringement defence.

    We met Kelly at the JFS Furniture show, where required some general advice about a new product we had launched, that had been alleged to have infringed another manufacturers product, which she helped tremendously with and put us all at ease. The Accusing party sent legal letters, threats and demands which we passed to Kelly, who fought our case professionally and directly, after Kelly's involvement the accusers soon relented and accepted there wasn't any infringement, I'm pretty sure without her help we wouldn't of had the outcome we had hoped for. We are very grateful for all you help Kelly, pleasure to work with you given the circumstances, you will be the only business on our list for any future help, advice and related services moving forward.
