Brian studied at the University of Dundee where he obtained both his degree and diploma with distinction. He obtained a certificate in Employment Law from the University of Strathclyde Business School in 1993. Brian trained with Drummond Miller in Edinburgh, principally in litigation. In 1996 he opened Drummond Miller’s Dunfermline office where he was a partner for 19 years before joining Morgans as a partner in June 2017. Brian specialises in litigation with an emphasis on civil litigation, family law and employment law. He is also regularly instructed in personal injury, adults with incapacity and criminal matters. Brian is a member of the Society of Solicitors in the Supreme Courts of Scotland and a member of the Family Law Association.

    Made a difficult time easier

    Was recommended Morgan's when I needed to apply for a complex guardianship order , Brian met us and explained whole process and got the ball rolling ,he kept us updated at all times and got the whole process completed alot quicker than anticipated

    I approached Morgans at a difficult time during my divorce when I found myself needing to change lawyers. After an initial meeting Brian Tait offered to take my case on for me. When Brian took over my case it was moving slowly through the court process but we were pretty much stuck at a stalemate. Brian managed to get things moving again and was always very honest with me, even if it was the kind of news I didn’t want to hear. Thankfully the good news outweighed the bad and Brian made steady progress towards reaching a settlement which suited both parties. As part of the divorce settlement Morgans marketed and sold my previous marital home. Elaine Kyle and Kimberley Beatson were the two main people who dealt with this for me. They were both a pleasure to deal with and made the whole sale process as easy and quick as it could be. Eventually the house was sold and the divorce completed. I would like to thank Brian Tait for making a very stressful situation far easier to get through and also for always being so professional and easy to deal with. I would also like to thank Elaine and Kimberley and the wider Morgan’s team. Thank you very much for such a great service.
