I didn’t know I could claim
I had a messy divorce from my ex. He was due to retire from the Navy at the time of our divorce. He did not want me to have a share of his pension. He negotiated that I keep our house and contents. I proved he had taken out the majority of the equity of our house but my then solicitor told me that was the deal, end of matter! No negotiation, nothing. I had to struggle for years to put my children through university and any other outgoings without his help. I saw an advert on Facebook and phoned England and Derbyshire. The staff there were so friendly and helpful! They guided me through the legal jargon and joyfully I received a nice little payment! My youngest daughter was getting married at the time so I was able to contribute. Thank you so much England and Derbyshire!
