Daven was admitted to the Solicitors’ Role in September 2003 and joined Maples in April 2004. With effect from the 1st January 2009 Daven has become a Partner in The Firm.
Daven specialises in Criminal Law, Motoring and Licensing matters. He is a Member of the Law Society Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme and is also a Member of the Boston and Spalding Duty Solicitor Scheme for both the Police Station and the Court.
He has vast experience of all matters of Criminal work including high profile cases involving rape and murder ranging to the bottom end of the scale of seriousness to criminal damage and public order offences.
Daven is also well respected locally for his representation of clients in motoring matters, whether he is trying to prevent a driving ban or to obtain an acquittal.
Since our Firm holds a Criminal Defence Service Contract, Daven can apply for and obtain legal aid for many Criminal Law matters. However when legal aid is not available, Daven has on many occasions successfully applied to the Court at the end of a case for a Defendant’s Costs Order from Central Funds to have the client’s costs met by the Court/State.

Boston Magistrates Court.
Having recently received a Summons on Referral to Court letter from Boston Magistrates Court, I attended the Maples Solicitors Offices in Spalding to seek advice ,regarding a'Motoring Law' matter.
I was issued with an 11am appointment with Mr. Daven Naghen, on Thursday 7th March, 2024.
I attended my appointment and was delighted by the information and support I received from Mr. Naghen. I now feel well informed as to what I should expect from my forthcoming court hearing, to discuss my probable driving disqualification. I am now aware of the process followed during such court hearings, and the likely outcome I face I . I now feel more comfortable in attending my hearing during April and feel capable to do so unsupported. Before meeting with Mr. Naghen , I was far from confident. I thank him for his time and expertise.

False accusation of assault
Maples have been exceptional, they did not pre judge or make any assumptions they were professional and mutual and gave me clear advice on my case as well as kept me fully informed of any costs or what legal aid I was entitled to. Daven was great for me, in future will be my go to for anything I need, his secretary kept me fully informed. He also didn’t come across as money grabbing he came across as someone that’s doing a job for the justice side which is a breath of fresh air.

Exceptional Service
I have recently dealt with Maples on a number of Landlord related issues and have been surprised at their consistent high levels of service - frankly something that has become so rare nowadays. This is a pretty unique private partnership run on 'old family values' with the added bonus of realistic and fair charges. Very impressed!
