Chris joined FBC Manby Bowdler as a Partner in the Litigation team, based in Birmingham, in November 2025. His focus is on conducting disputes and investigations, including general commercial litigation and arbitration (including LCIA, ICC and adhoc rules) across a variety of sectors and for a diverse client base (including individuals, businesses and other organisations). He works on a range of matters – but has particular experience of acting in high value, complex and international disputes. He also has significant experience of investigating, bringing and defending claims involving fraud or dishonesty (including dealing with injunctions, disclosure orders and contempt of court issues). He has also carried out internal investigations for organisations, including those arising from the suspicion of fraud, whistleblowing complaints and cyber security incident response. Chris also specialises and has an interest in disputes and investigations involving digital assets, crypto assets and Web3. This includes the recovery of digital assets, and traditional disputes that involve digital assets, crypto assets or Web3 in some capacity. He previously led the team of lawyers that served proceedings and an injunction via the transfer of a non-fungible token in Osbourne v Persons Unknown and has a deep understanding of the wider ecosystem. He has contributed as co-author to chapters in thought leadership books including: (1) “There’s no such thing as Cryptocrime” and (2) “the Insurance of Digital Assets”. Chris’ practice is both domestic and international. He acts as global counsel and co-ordinates disputes and investigations all over the world. This involves developing and deploying strategies for securing assets and information (including where that information is for use in processes in other jurisdictions). He has also advised on Letters of Request matters. Chris is recognised as a key lawyer in the leading Legal 500 2026 Directory.
