Accepting new clients via ReviewSolicitors

Morven is a Consultant within the Family Law Team. She has practised exclusively in family law since qualifying in 2003. Morven deals with all aspects of family law, including the negotiation of pre-nuptial and co-habitation agreements, the division of matrimonial property between separating spouses, and cohabitants’ claims, both on separation and death. She also has extensive experience in child law matters, including residence, contact, and relocation. Morven has a particular interest in cases with a cross-border or international element and has represented many clients who are based abroad. Where possible, Morven strives to resolve her cases by negotiation. She is a trained Collaborative Lawyer and is a firm believer that, in appropriate cases, this process can offer clients a more constructive, family centred and solutions-based approach to their separation. When court action is necessary, Morven is an experienced litigator and has represented clients in various Sheriff Courts across Scotland. During her time working in Edinburgh, she also acted in a number of complex and novel cases in the Court of Session. Morven was accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a Specialist in Family Law in 2011 and was re-accredited in 2016 and 2021. Additionally, she was accredited as a Family Law Mediator in 2022. Morven is a Family Law Association Member and a past committee member and Treasurer. Presently, she is the Chair of the Glasgow arm of the Consensus Collaboration Scotland organisation.
