I am an Associate Solicitor in the Court of Protection Team based at the Crosby Office. I joined the firm as a legal clerk in 2006, wualifying as a solicitor in 2014. I specialise in all areas of Private Client work including the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (for both Property and Affairs and Health and Welfare), estate Planning, Probate applications, estate administration, tax planning, and all Elderly Client work I have extensive experience of the requirements of a Professional Attorney or Deputy when acting for clients, dealing with all matters on their behalf, ranging from seeking investment advice, looking after and selling their properties, making sure they are receiving all the benefits they are entitled to, to ensuring they have a treats tin full of goodies in their rooms at their care homes. I help my clients put their affairs in order from deciding where their assets will go when they die, to who would help them manage their money if they were no longer able to do so themselves during their lifetime. I can help families make an application to the Court of Protection to be appointed as a Deputy for a family member who has lost the capacity to manage their money, and where there is no one with authority to access their assets on their behalf. We can also be the attorney or Deputy for a person if there is no suitable family member available. I assist my clients in all areas of Private Client work including the preparation of Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney (Property and Affairs and Health and Welfare), estate Planning, tax planning, Probate and all Elderly Client work including applications to the Court of Protection. They come for peace of mind to know they have seen a fully qualified Solicitor and have put their affairs in order. I love to put clients at their ease as I know they get very nervous about coming into a Solicitor’s office. I get a sense of achievement as the majority of my clients leave with a smile and their shoulders more relaxed than when they first arrived! I like to show genuine empathy as a lot of my clients are seeing me at a difficult time, when often a parent or spouse has died or has been diagnosed with dementia I am a member of Solicitors for the Elderly and have undertaken training on Dementia which has greatly assisted me in understanding the condition and communicating effectively with sufferers and their familie I attend the University of Liverpool Law Clinic and assist students as required in order for them to progress in their studies and ultimately become lawyers themselves.
