The purchase of any property is never going to be a smooth ride, but, Samera at Stephens Wilmot made the process as painless as possible and was absolutely brilliant. Any time I had questions, and there were a few as I am a FTB, she answered promptly, proffesionally but most importantly clearly. Would reccomend!

Was recommended so sad it was such a bad experience. No response for weeks at a time and at times didn’t relay info onto the buyers solicitor which made the sale last 8 months! Nearly lost the sale all together. Then at completion tried to add charges on that I’d already either paid or for “work” I ended up doing myself like getting the council to agree they wave the right to first refusal. Maybe you can have a great experience with a different solicitor but I will certainly not be using this firm again.

From start to finish this process with of moving house and Stephen Wilmot Solicitors as our legal aid to much longer than we expected. After putting in a offer for our new house in March we did not even move until half way through November. Although the Job was completed we always felt like Samera has a huge case load as we never felt prioritized. During the process we were asked to find out information that we thought should have been her job (and some of it was). This slowed down the process a lot. When replying to our emails as well she would tend to only reply to half our questions at times which can be very frustrating when you just want answers. Her team when speaking with on the phone came across as unprofessional, almost like she was questioning me when i asked to speak with Samera. When Samera went on annual leave we requested that we be put through to another solicitor as we were waiting to exchange, we were told that would be possible until a day or two before her leave when we were then told no one would cover and we would have to delay the exchanged yet another week. Eventually we managed to exchange 9 days before the mortgage offer ran out which was more stress. This was not just down to Samera as out buyers solicitors were not very good either. We also feel at times if we hadn't chased up and prompted Samera the move could have taken a lot longer than it did. Thankfully now the whole process has now come to an end. We would not recommend this solicitor if you value a fast transaction.

I was purchasing a new property and selling my existing. Thought would have been a smooth transaction, however was clearly not. Issues lay with other solicitors which caused deliberate delays which I felt my solicitors could’ve done more to get a quicker response from them.. due to the delays we lost our onward purchase which resulted in the move not happening. There was inadequate communication throughout where we had to chase multiple times for updates. Also there were multiple case handlers which didn’t give us reassurance that they had our best interests at heart. The sale fell through in July, however I hadn’t spoke to anyone till the end of September, all that time no courtesy call to check how things are going. This company was fast enough to obtain the initial payments to open cases and close which we felt were unjustified as nothing had changed on our side just the buyer of our property, but didn’t provide any great deal of service. At times when I called messages weren’t always passed on the handler and also handler was quite abrupt on the phone. We will not be using this company going forward.

I was assigned Samera and Megan for the sale and purchase of a property and I had no issues. I was able to speak on the phone when I needed to discuss something, and I was kept in the loop along the way via email. Thank you Samera and Megan!
