My experience with Stephens Wilmot Solicitors has been nothing short of disastrous, marked by unresponsiveness, inefficiency, and a shocking disregard for basic professional standards.

From the very beginning, communication was virtually nonexistent. Despite calling up to ten times a week, I was repeatedly placed on hold for over 10 minutes before being disconnected. Not once did I receive a callback, despite my numerous requests. This level of negligence is inexcusable for a firm claiming to offer professional services.

After paying my deposit, it took over six weeks for anyone to even open my case. Progress only occurred because of my relentless weekly follow-ups. Without my intervention, nothing would have been done.

When the final bill arrived, I was appalled to find multiple charges exceeding the original quote, with no prior explanation or justification. The final documents were riddled with mistakes, including inconsistent spellings of my name—a fundamental detail that I had already flagged but which remained uncorrected.

After enduring six months of delays and being ignored, I was then presented with an “express completion” fee because my mortgage was nearing expiry. This situation was entirely caused by the firm’s prolonged inaction and lack of urgency.

Stephens Wilmot Solicitors has shown an extraordinary level of incompetence and indifference, failing on every count of professionalism. I strongly urge anyone seeking legal assistance to avoid this firm, as they will only waste your time, money, and patience.

We recently completed for our new home after some nerve wracking and ups and downs. But we are glad that Lindsey was acting as our conveyancer. We found Lindsey to be very clear in all communications with good attention to details. We always been advised about various legal matters and facts in plain English. Our house purchase also involved a remortgage and Lindsey not only engaged but worked well with remortgage conveyancer. There has been a few revisions in purchase price and mortgage offers, but Lindsey handled all those very swiftly and timely manner. I have had a great experience as a vendor with Stephens Wilmot who have been professional, responsive and reassuring throughout the process. I knew that everything was being managed effectively whilst working with Aimee and her team, and I received clear communication throughout. I felt reassured from the very start and I can't thank Stephens Wilmot enough.

Not impressed. To start with contact details were incorrectly input to your system resulting in an email being sent to the wrong address. Phone number had to be notified to you despite being shown on the initial forms submitted to you. The conveyancer was very slow and seemed to forget to send us the purchase contract causing delays. Then tried to charge Welsh rates of SDLT on a purchase in England.
