Extremely disappointing experience – would not recommend We are first-time buyers and unfortunately our experience with this conveyancing firm has been extremely disappointing. We are now around 24 weeks into a completely chain-free purchase and still have not exchanged. There was a delay of around a month caused by the seller, which was outside of the conveyancer's control, but the overall length of time this purchase has taken is incredibly frustrating. The biggest issue has been the communication. We have repeatedly struggled to get clear updates, and on one occasion we received no response for around two weeks. In which time I was being blatantly ignored. When we have asked where things are up to or what is still outstanding, we were dismissed rather than supported or properly informed. Our completion date is coming up and I have very little faith - I’m more excited for my dealing with this company to end than getting the keys at this point. As first-time buyers, we expected our conveyancer to guide us through the process and explain what we needed to do. Instead, we have often felt like we have been left to figure things out ourselves. We have had to repeatedly chase for information and resend documents that had already been provided. On one occasion, we were asked to resend a signature because the reverse side of the document had apparently not been checked. We have now reached the stage where we have very little confidence in the service we are receiving. Buying your first home is already stressful enough without feeling like you have no idea what is happening or whether anything is actually progressing. I logged a complaint with them over 3 weeks again and am yet to recived an acknowledgment. The experience has been incredibly stressful and has taken a lot of the excitement out of buying our first home. We simply wanted clear communication, proper guidance and a basic level of customer service, and unfortunately that is not what we have experienced.

I made an offer for an house on 17.06.25 and I approached Stephens Wilmot to do the conveyancing. Kelly dealt with my case and the sale of the house was completed on 22nd August which was 9 1/2 weeks. This exceeded my initial expectations of 12 weeks.
