Orlaith-Mairead gained her Honours Degree in Law at Edinburgh University in 2021 and returned to Edinburgh to complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Professional Legal Practice in 2023. Having always thoroughly enjoyed Family Law and pursued a keen interest in Criminal Law during her academic career, Órlaith-Máiréad is extremely excited to embark on a new adventure in the field of personal injury and road traffic accidents. Her practice of the law is inspired by a sincere desire to serve the needs of justice, further the common good, and be of assistance to the voiceless and powerless. Over the course of previous years, and in conjunction with her studies, Órlaith-Máiréad has held an internship at a firm engaged in criminal defence, family law, divorce, and civil litigation, where she played an active role in the development of strategies for clients in civil and criminal contexts, managing correspondence, conducting extensive research, and collating productions, statements, and indictments prior to cases. Originally employed at Thompsons for a placement during the summer, Órlaith-Máiréad undertook a diverse range of administrative tasks, frequently transcribed statements provided by prospective witnesses, and gained practical experience of constantly evolving work in a bustling firm.
