Costly Will Exexcution
I was disappointed to receive a hefty billing for the handling of my late mother’s small estate. Looking at most of the costs, it seems to relate to emails being sent to me at £26 per time. Most of which was me chasing for updates as there was no clear guidance given at the beginning of the process, neither I advised on any associated cost breakdowns. Throughout the entire process, it felt like I was an inconvenience when chasing for updates. I now wish my late mother had made me her executor rather than Bishop and Sewell. I could have done all that was required, without being billed for 55% of the remainder of her estate for their services. I will no longer be using Bishop and Sewell as executors for my Will based on my experience. I have already drafted a new one and appointed my own Executors.
