I am extremely disappointed by my experience with Burtons Legal Group. I instructed the firm in connection with a Right to Buy property purchase and paid funds requested for file opening, AML/ID checks and searches. Throughout the matter I received engagement documentation, onboarding communications and ongoing correspondence relating to the transaction. However, when issues later arose, Burtons maintained that they were not instructed, that no solicitor-client relationship existed and that documentation had not been completed. These assertions appeared difficult to reconcile with the history of the matter and the communications that had previously taken place. What I found most frustrating was the apparent inconsistency in Burtons' position. At various stages I was informed that Burtons could not act because requirements had not been met, yet later communications indicated that forms could be reissued, identity checks completed and the matter progressed. This left me with very little confidence in the firm's handling of my case. I was also concerned by communications said to have been made to the local authority regarding Burtons' instruction status whilst the transaction remained ongoing. Given that this was a time-sensitive Right to Buy purchase, any confusion surrounding representation created significant concern and uncertainty. Repeated requests for clear explanations, file information and complaint-related information were not addressed in the way I expected. Ultimately, I lost confidence in the firm's ability to act in my best interests and felt I had no option but to seek alternative legal representation. The issue for me is not simply the refund of money. A refund does not address the time lost, the stress caused, the uncertainty created, or the potential impact on the transaction itself. On the basis of my experience, I cannot recommend this firm.

Tehreem Fatima worked very quickly to get our spouse visa approved with the pressures of a baby on the way (my wife applied from Mexico) I contacted DJF solicitors in late April and by early June the visa was accepted using the priority service DJF made sure everything was in good order and requested for instance I send 12 months not 6 months payslips and that all travel history was recorded in detail.
