I genuinely cannot speak highly enough of the support and representation I received throughout what has been one of the most difficult and important periods of my life. From start to finish, my solicitor was absolutely exceptional. She represented me throughout a complicated and emotionally challenging family court process, including attending court with me, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure my voice was heard and my interests were properly represented. Her advice was always incredibly well thought out, detailed, intelligent and straight to the point. She had a fantastic ability to explain complicated legal matters clearly, helping me understand my options and make informed decisions at every stage. I approached Sinclair Law in February 2023 to begin divorce proceedings, not realising at the time quite how long and complex the process would become. My case involved both child arrangements and financial proceedings, with a number of particularly difficult and unusual circumstances along the way. The child arrangements element ultimately went to court, and I was awarded full custody of my children, with safeguarding measures put in place meaning that my ex-husband was not permitted to have contact with them. I then moved on to the financial element of the divorce, which proved to be by far the longest and most challenging part of the process. The financial proceedings took more than two years, largely because my ex-husband was completely unresponsive and non-compliant throughout. He was essentially absent from the process and did not engage with the proceedings at all. While he wasn’t actively contesting matters, his lack of engagement created an enormous amount of additional complexity, uncertainty and delay. There were also significant difficulties around establishing his financial position and obtaining the information needed to progress matters. Throughout this, I had to continue going through every stage of the process and, in many instances, meet costs that I would not ordinarily have expected to have to bear. There were also issues outside of either my or my solicitor’s control, including difficulties obtaining the information required from pension providers so that the pension actuary could complete their analysis. It was an incredibly stressful and, at times, exhausting process. However, throughout the entire case, Danielle was patient, understanding and pragmatic. She was incredibly clear in her communication, thorough in her approach and, most importantly, always focused on finding a way to move things forward, even when there seemed to be another hurdle at every stage. There were occasions when the best advice wasn’t necessarily the direction I initially wanted to take, but I always felt that the advice I received was honest, considered and based on what was realistically achievable in my individual circumstances. She worked tirelessly to achieve the best possible outcome for me given the circumstances, and ultimately we did reach a resolution. I am extremely grateful for the support, persistence and professionalism shown throughout what has been a very difficult chapter of my life. Divorce can be stressful enough without the additional complications I experienced, and having Danielle who remained calm, pragmatic and committed throughout made a huge difference. I would have no hesitation in recommending Sinclair Law to anyone looking for clear, thorough and compassionate legal support through what can be an incredibly difficult process.
