Child Residency Change

I was represented by Cheryl Cole from Simon Lacey Law Associates to change my daughter's place of residence.

During initial contact I was given general advice and helpful guidance until they felt like I needed representation. This showed a high level of integrity and ultimately saved me money until the opportune moment.

Once legal proceedings began, Cheryl was very honest and upfront about the process. This helped psychologically prepare me for the difficult and highly stressful path ahead. She is very approachable and listens intently; yet did not fuel my emotional anxieties. This really helped keep me focused on the process and work through it one task/day at a time.

I felt truly represented during the proceedings. All of the key points of my rambling emails were delivered to the court in a coherent and cohesive manner. More importantly, my daughters needs and wishes were at the forefront of every decision and action.

The outcome of the court case was fair, based on what was best for my daughter at the time. Cheryl laid the groundwork for the issue to be revisited at a later date should things not improve for my daughter or should she still wish to live with me.

Since then, Cheryl successfully negotiated a change in residence so that my daughter can come and live here. This was achieved without the need to return to court for a very modest price considering the work involved.

The staff at Simon Lacey are also brilliant. Friendly, helpful and go above and beyond to help in any way they can.

I can't recommend Cheryl Cole and Simon Lacey Law Associates enough. I felt informed, supported and represented throughout. Thank you.

Cheryl Cole is amazing

I've used Simon Lacey solicitors for me to continue to get access to my daughter. Cheryl was my solicitor and she was absolutely incredible. Told me what was going on step by step, had lots of communication with each other. I like a solicitor that tells you as it is and doesn't give false hope and I got exactly that. In general I had help by them for nearly a year and they all helped me through tough times. Also massive appreciation goes to the receptionists there some of the most polite people I know and are very quick to get the answer needed.

Excellent service

I was recently represented by Cheryl Cole of Simon Lacey Law Associates. She was thorough, responsive and very personable. She explained things clearly and concisely. Her secretary was similarly helpful. I hope that I will not need her services again, but would not hesitate to recommend her.

Just in it for the money!

If you ask for a duty solicitor at Weymouth police station then you will likely end up with Simon Lacey or one of his associates.

I have only dealt with Simon so this review is about him only and not anyone else working for his company.

Because Simon Lacey is so often appointed as Weymouth police duty brief it seems that he has formed quite close relationships with the police and local magistrates. It was hard for me not to notice that he spent considerably more time discussing with police officers how much they enjoyed their holidays than he did with me about my case.

I have been on pre-charge bail for nine months now and attended several interviews with Simon Lacey. Not once did he raise any of the defence points I gave him and when I did he sided with the police to try and dismiss it.

I have also phoned his office twice and asked him to call me back which he has never done.

I have now discontinued his services after finding out from a third party that he was trying to change my bail return date so that he could go on holiday without even informing me first.

When I did return to my bail date at a police station forty miles away I was informed that I had not needed to attend as I was being re-bailed and that Simon Lacey had been informed of this some days earlier.

Angry, I phoned Simon Lacey's office only to be told that he was on holiday but that he had been informed I did not need to attend the police station that day. This is where I have ended my dealings with that firm once and forever!

It is my opinion that Simon Lacey will turn up for legal aid paying situations and then do everything possible to not upset the police, which usually amounts to not doing or saying anything at all.
