We cannot thank Rebecca Roberts enough for her expertise, kindness, and unwavering support during one of the most difficult times in our family’s life.

Rebecca not only brought exceptional knowledge of SEND law and educational rights, but also genuine compassion and empathy that made us feel seen, heard, and protected.
She was always patient, thorough, and incredibly responsive. What felt overwhelming suddenly became manageable, simply because Rebecca was by our side. She empowered us with information, stood firm when we were unheard, and offered calm reassurance at every step.
A truly outstanding solicitor and a wonderful person. We recommend her with all our hearts.

Sale of land

This process for us was potentially very emotional and stressful and not one we wished to take but thanks to the wonderful commitment of Heidi Cowling was an utterly seamless process. Heidi kept us informed of all developments with full and understandable explanations of the legal processes we needed to follow . We trusted her completely and with good reason as the sale was completed without delay and to our complete satisfaction .

All 3 of the above title were several years out of date and needed updating. As a client I found all concerned who I dealt with to be helpful, up to date professional legal knowledge, good £ value overall, and with integrity, kind thinking, and all amendments completed in a very timely way. All recommended.

Sale of Tenanted house February 2025

We engaged Amicus Law in respect of the sale of a rented property in York. The firm was readily approachable by telephone; subsequent communication with the solicitor and her office staff was reliably prompt; the legal process was explained and queries clarified. When difficulties were encountered both with the buyer's delays in their mortgage offer, and with the local council's rented accommodation regulations, these were patiently managed and satisfactorily resolved. Documentation was issued in a timely way, was accurate, and took account of changing circumstances or requirements. Amicus Law's fees represented excellent value for money, compared with similar previous sales by various firms. We are grateful to Andrea Parsons, our solicitor, and to conveyancing assistant Donna Everett.

Absolutely incredible conveyancing service from Sandra Lee and the team at Mustoe Shorter as they were being incorporated into Amicus Law. Sandra has conveyanced for my family before and came recommended to me for my first purchase as a beacon of knowledge who does things properly.

I found this all to be more than true! She worked incredibly hard to get us into our new home having highlighted and helped us navigate problems with our first purchase that subsequently fell through. Sandra is very clear on the facts but always remains neutral, keeping us in the loop at all stages and explaining each part of the process to us. This was invaluable as first time buyers. She always politely deferred questions that were not in her remit (there were many of those from me) and worked to quickly and thoroughly answer those that were: explaining what is the law and what is fair (sometimes not the same thing!). As the partner coming into this purchase with much less financially, Sandra really ensured we understood how to protect our individual investments and safeguard us both for the future. We are delighted with the service we received and will be using her, Morag (who administrated the purchase) and Amicus Law again!

We had the good fortune in instructing Sandra Lee at Amicus to act for us in sale of our property. We could have not been more delighted, Sandra was very professional at all times, yet approachable and very efficient. Our property sale presented challenges which Sandra worked through assiduously to a successful completion.
