Sale of our house

Ailsa at GSB has been amazing from start to finish with the sale of our house. It was done sooo much quicker than we ever thought and we never had any issues. Ailsa was very helpful and was there no matter how silly the question I asked. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Excellent service Swift Response and Great Staff

"We were in the process of buying our first home. The team was brilliant and helpful, especially the swift response from Cherise. Hopefully, our next step will be completed smoothly. Thanks to all team members."

Garden Stirling Burnett Conveyencing

I have been dealing with Cherise, Purchase Negotiator in the North Berwick office. Cherise secured a purchase for me and is now helping with the sale of my property . She is absolutely first class , responding to any emails I send her and to any calls immediately. She is super helpful, down to earth and genuinely seems to have the best interests of her clients at heart. I would thoroughly recommend Cherise and GS Burnett for all your conveyancing needs.

Excellent Service!

From first meeting Wendy to arrange the sale of my property to completing the sale with Ailsa, the service from GSB was excellent. Wendy was thorough when explaining the sales process and providing background information on sales of similar properties in my area which gave me confidence in the sale of my property. This proved to be well founded confidence as we managed a strong sale above home report value, above recent performance in the area and in only 1 week of being on the market! Wendy was also very quick to respond to any queries I had and was very clear in communication. Once the sale was agreed, Ailsa was great and picked up liaison with the purchasers solicitors. Sharing information and agreeing terms was easy and was done very efficiently, making the whole process stress free. Lastly, communication can be challenging when discussing legal processes such as the sale of a property but Ailsa made things very clear meaning I didn't have to do much to understand the requirements and timeline to completion of the sale. I can't recommend the team at GSB enough! Thanks again.

Unsatisfactory service from disinterested staff lacking competence

Received extremely poor service from this group in both selling my property and buying my next property. Would not recommend and would actually actively discourage people from using their services. Firstly they did not notify us that an offer had been accepted on a property, we found out we had bought a flat from the ESPC notifying us that 'a property on your watchlist is now under offer' I phoned the firm, no answer, ended up phoning the sellers estate agents and confirming with them that it was in fact our offer that had been accepted. Takes the shine off it a bit. We were notified several hours later and told the estate agent we already knew. There were issues with paperwork regarding the sale of our property which was partly my own fault and partly the fault of a building company that had done some renovation work for me and hadn't filed their completion certificate. During this process there was much going back and for with the council and submitting and re-submitting forms, all to a very strict deadline. During this period our estate agent had mentioned she didn't think we would achieve our initial move in date and requested to move it back a month which we eventually did. She then took two weeks holiday (coincidentally over the initial moving date) did no handover with any other staff member and just left us. I reached out to her emails, no reply, I reached out the the firm through there portal on their website, no reply. We were waiting on documentation from the council during this time which had arrived with the firm but no one was there or monitoring emails to forward it on to me so the process stalled. They had this documentation for 10 days before I saw it. I was then told that timelines were too tight and the date would probably need to be moved again. I refused, siting that the delay was caused by them but was told by my solicitors manager that this 10 day delay was 'immaterial' to us not making our deadline. I don't understand how 10 days is 'immaterial' in such a tight time window but no one was willing to take accountability even though both the solicitor and her manager acknowledged there should have been a handover before her holiday. The solicitor also regularly mis-gendered my male partner whom we had previously discussed on phone calls by asking if 'she' could collect and drop off keys etc and if 'her' name would need to be added to paperwork which is at best careless and worst homophobic. This was basically our first time buying as the property we sold was inherited and the whole process was way under expectation. Couldn't really have been worse to be honest. Katherine Paulin was our solicitor and Tom Heaphy her manager
