LPL failed to complete my purchase. Communication is appalling, you cannot speak with your solicitor via email or phone. The complaints team and the staff who respond to reviews are at times rude and made claims that were not factually accurate. They wasted my time for months without providing proper reasoning. It's also telling that after I changed to a more expensive firm my new solicitor was able to complete the case in good time and communicate with me during the process. The case was in fact not complex and did not warrant the significant delays LPL put me through. I do not recommend this firm; instruct a more professional firm.

Our conveyancing case handler mixed up the prices of the properties we were selling and buying because she kept mixing up the pages in our forms (and refused to be guided to the correct pages until after many attempts), she misread a title register, she added unauthorised fees to our account (despite notes on our account) and so it went. We tried getting a change of conveyancing case handler but were blocked from speaking to her manager by various staff when phoning in. The manager didn't bother even speaking to us after we emailed clientservices, instead our conveyancing case handler got in touch and instructed us that the issue was resolved. Then she went on to not pay attention again some more. We got so fed up with her after she did work on buying a property ONE MONTH after we told her not to (the chain collapsed) that we felt there was no salvaging the situation and that we'd rather start again with a completely different firm. At that point someone FINALLY decided to provide the contact details for the manager.

Very poor experience with LPL. They are not the cheapest option either, I wish I had gone with someone else. I am buying a new built home and I started the process back in feb 24 (it is now may 24) and it is still ongoing. LPL only started working on my case 2 weeks after receiving the contract pack from the developer, and that is only because I chased them due to lack of updates in their portal. If I hadn’t chased them who knows when they would have begun work. The contract pack was received on the 13th of March. Endless back and fwd regarding documents, when really I should have been told in early stages what I need to provide. This stretched for a period of 2-3 weeks, by the time I sent them something they wanted something else as well. An advance was paid in feb (so that they can order the searches as soon as possible). Searches were only ordered on the 17th of April, more than a month after receiving the contract pack and again this is only because I asked them to do so while in the meantime I provide any additional documents they require, so that everything is ready and speed things up. Not sure what LPL were waiting for… Communication is very poor, apart from the portal there is absolutely no way of getting an update. Countless emails from my behalf with no response. Unable to speak over the phone with my case handler, I constantly get routed to voicemail. No callbacks despite many voicemails left. The only comms with them was when they needed something. Not worth the money they are asking for, would not recommend. I am literally paying them to cause me stress. Exchange date was set for the 26th of April, now the developer is threatening to put the house back on the market . Fresh approach to conveying? Haha

As your property is a new build the search provider was unable to identify the specific area to search without the plot plan. You are aware why we could not order searches until we were in receipt of the same. Once our enquiries have been satisfied by the other side and we are in receipt of the information discussed with you again on Friday; which remains outstanding, we will be able to progress matters.
The team at LPL were really helpful, knowledgeable and responsive. Their online portal is easy to use and keeps you updated. Helped my sale & purchase go through quickly despite the other side trying to delay things. Highly recommended

This firm of solicitors is not local to me and was recommended by my mortgage broker , so I was a little skeptical around using them for my sale and purchase incase they wernt proactive or I needed to visit them for any reason , I need not of worried , I was assigned an excellent solicitor namely Elliott Clarence who has gone above and beyond to complete my transaction in very challenging circumstances, as we were dealing with another solicitor that failed to respond to any requests and did not inform us of any progress , Elliott is a total credit to LPL , and I hope he is recognised as the true professional he exhibits!

I don’t have anything good to say about them unfortunately. They are slow to respond, they drag your case for weeks till you’re frustrated. They can make you lose the house you planned to buy. I wish we didn’t have to use them. They change your case handler every other month till you exhaust your energy. Please, please, get a Solicitor that truly cares about you and their business not them.

My time has never been wasted like LPL has in my entire life. We’ve spent 4months and 3weeks on the purchase of a house and it doesn’t seem like we’re close to completion. I’ve been chasing them like they are offering me a free service. Sadly, I didn’t read their reviews before choosing them. My purchase was given to a newbie unsupervised to handle and she has messed up everything. The seller has threatened to pull out twice, twice we’ve extended the mortgage offer from the lender and thrice has she promised we were close to completion and funnily, the dates are a month apart(4th of June, July and August). We’ve even ordered loads of household items based on the promises we got from LPL. Myself and my spouse have now lost the excitement that comes with purchasing a new home and at this point we are waiting for the last mortgage offer we got to expire and probably arrange for our deposit to be refunded. Nobody needs to go through what I’m currently going through.

We understand that it could have been frustrating whilst there was some back and forth with your lender however, you are aware that these delays are not attributable to any action or inaction from LPL.
We tried these guys as they were cheaper than our usual people. Wish we hadn't, they were slow, the paperwork was often sent incorrectly and even their review link didn't work!

Very disappointing service. In my experience, the firm was quick to request payment upfront, but after three weeks, no meaningful work had been carried out on my matter. Communication was extremely slow, and I received no clear guidance about the next steps. I repeatedly asked for information and legal advice, but my questions were not properly answered. The customer service team were also unhelpful. Each time I contacted them, I was told that my concerns had been raised and that someone would contact me. Unfortunately, nobody did. I do not feel that my case was handled professionally or efficiently. Based on my experience, I would advise others to instruct a firm that is able to communicate clearly, provide proper advice and actually progress the work.
We are sorry that you have been unhappy at this very early stage of the transaction. Money on account was received for searches from you, just 3 working days ago and we are in the process of mapping the plan with the search provider to ensure that the correct area is searched. We cannot agree that there has been any delay attributable to LPL.
I was disappointed with my experience using LPL for my property purchase. The main issues were communication and accuracy. Throughout the transaction, I found communication to be poor. I made several calls requesting a callback, but these were often not returned. This was particularly difficult as I was working overseas in a significantly different time zone and relied heavily on prompt responses. The regular excuse was they could not phone an international phone number, despite me only providing a UK number. More concerning was an error in the purchase price recorded on my file. I had provided the correct purchase price from the outset in the initial paperwork and also discussed the figures by phone before instruction because the purchase included a discount. Despite this, the incorrect price remained on their system and was only identified at completion, which meant I had to arrange additional funds at very short notice. During the complaints process, the firm maintained that I had originally provided the wrong figure, but they were unable to provide evidence to support that assertion when asked. I found this disappointing given that I held documentation showing the correct price had been supplied from the beginning. They acknowledged some shortcomings and offered a goodwill payment. However, I did not feel this fully reflected the stress and inconvenience caused. My experience was that the transaction was completed, but the service fell short in terms of communication, attention to detail, and accountability when errors were raised. LPL's latest tactic has been to come up with new reasons for their errors, or revert to old excuses which they can't provide evidence to support.

This is the second time I have used the services of LPL. I highly recommend these lawyers, communication via email is very easy and fast. They also have their own app, which is user-friendly and provides real-time updates on the progress of your case. I highly recommend them.
