Mirror will disherited by step parent! Solid solicitors!
If you are reading this, you are likely grieving a lost parent and coming to terms with the additional shock that a step-parent is adding injury to that loss. You may have hesitated, or been slow to understand the implications of a Mirror Will—a loophole that one day, hopefully, the law will abolish. With property prices so high now, it is simply wrong that children can be disinherited—even if the parent wishes it, as the elderly are unfortunately vulnerable. The law should be like in other countries where you cannot disinherit a child. Emails and conversations with my late mother indicated that she really believed one day I would inherit the family home and Id had years of being promised this!. I had no idea she had signed a Mirror Will. I had no idea that the step parent could then write you out of any future inheritance despite the trust placed in them! Being overseas, with no legal cover and limited means, I was at a total loss. I had spoken to many solicitors before I found 56 Law—and most did not feel they could do anything-and not only that if they could it was all about their fees and nothing about compassion-0 empathy!!To my relief, I finally found 56 Law and their no win, no fee arrangement. Without them, I would have received nothing. Thanks to their efforts, I am now £40,000 better off than I was a year ago. To be clear: the sum is modest compared to what should have rightfully passed to me one day, but that is a failure of the law, not of the firm. From the outset, 56 Law were kind, compassionate, and sensitive to my circumstances, what actually struck me was for the first time I had actual empathy for my situation. And at last a firm that sounded confident in my case. I had to share a lot of sensitive information, and I could feel that they were as outraged for my situation as myself! Their fees are transparent and capped, and they only take cases they are confident about. At an initial hearing, the other party's solicitors were limit unprofessional, but 56 Law remained dignified throughout. They handled the bad behaviour with complete professionalism, and I am utterly grateful for that—I did not even need to attend to suffer that exhibition!! The court process is slow, but the solicitors were efficient throughout. Other well-known solicitors told me I had no case. I am glad I did not listen. If you are in this situation, 56 Law are the specialists you need. I really want to send out my thanks to this team—you were so so kind and understanding. Thank you for being my representatives.
