What clients say about Convey Law Ltd.

The firm appears to specialise in conveyancing, including remortgages, sales and purchases. Some clients valued its efficiency on complex matters, with particular praise for tenacity, responsiveness and staying late to secure exchange. However, many reviews report slow progress, repeated delays, poor attention to detail and a lack of proactive updates. Soft-skill criticism includes rude or dismissive emails, unhelpful telephone responses and clients feeling ignored or spoken down to. Several reviewers also complained about unexpected extra fees, overcharging and pressure-heavy follow-up after online quotes.

A culture of inefficiency and incompetence

The service provided by Lauren Thomas, my Conveyancer... was shockingly bad. The worst conveyancing I’ve ever had and I’ve moved house a lot. Mistakes made, messages unanswered, items not chased up, incorrect paperwork sent, wrong names on legal documents, mysterious expenses added to my bill that I had to query several times to get more than the briefest - and evasive - answer, the list goes on. At one point I received a hard copy letter through the post along with a black and white document, and the letter asked me to make sure I printed the document in colour! Updates to my sale I received by email mentioned legal processes that were outstanding, but they actually related to my purchase and did not apply to the sale. And the cost was PROHIBITIVE. I accept that there were some factors in my purchase that required extra work to be done, but the work was slow and shoddy and I still paid over 50% more than I was quoted. Towards the end of the process I received an email saying “Urgent information” or something similar. I opened it eagerly thinking it was going to be a completion date, but they actually had the temerity to send me a marketing email with details about all their successes, along with a video of their staff Christmas party!!! I could hardly believe my eyes. Was this a joke? At the point in my life where I was literally days away from moving house, up to my eyes in Packing and organising things, hoping to get it sorted as soon as possible, and I get a video from my conveyancer of their Christmas party! Whoever thought that was a good idea needs sacking. Their website says award winning but I Can’t believe that relates to the same company. It’s no wonder solicitors have such a bad reputation with the completely unsatisfactory and slow work done by this company for such a prohibitive price. I wish there was an option to leave 0 stars

Constant sales calling

Asked for a quote as I did of other companies. Big mistake . Ive been hounded to death on daily calls about 10 to date. Very pushy. Found this extremely annoying and irritating.

Lack of professionalism

Poor communication. Disappointing tone on emails along. Being spoken to like a fool for asking with questions.

Unprofessional

After completing online quote, I am literally been bombarded with voice mails, texts, emails, calls on a daily basis, any bon-fide law firm that has to go to these lengths to secure business, I wouldn't touch with a barge pole.

SHOCKING TREATMENT AVOID!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Convey Law, particularly with the way my remortgage was handled by Fraser Williams. From the very beginning, the matter was slow and frustrating. I experienced what I consider to be repeated mistakes, poor communication and unnecessary delays. I had to repeatedly chase for progress and clarification, which was extremely stressful when dealing with an important remortgage. What is particularly unacceptable is how the matter has ultimately been handled. I never asked Convey Law to stop acting for me. I never withdrew my instructions and I never requested that my file be closed. Despite this, I received an email from Fraser Williams stating that they had decided to cease acting and that my file would be passed to their Aborted Transaction Team. I was previously told that there was “very little confidence” in their ability as my conveyancer and that the relationship had “completely broken down.” I strongly dispute that characterisation. I raised concerns and questions because I expected my conveyancer to handle my matter properly. Raising concerns should not be portrayed as an instruction to terminate the relationship. I have made it clear that I still want my remortgage to proceed and that, if Fraser Williams does not wish to continue dealing with my case, I would expect Convey Law to allocate another conveyancer or solicitor to take over the matter rather than simply abandoning it. The fact that a client can be left in this position during an active remortgage, despite not asking the firm to stop acting, is extremely concerning. Overall, my experience has been one of slow progress, mistakes from the outset, poor communication, having to chase repeatedly, and ultimately being told that the firm would stop acting when that was never my instruction. I am now having to formally challenge the decision and seek clarification about the handling of my file, the status of my remortgage and the potential consequences of the firm’s decision. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend Convey Law for a remortgage, particularly if you expect proactive communication, attention to detail and reliable progression of your matter. I hope senior management will review what has happened and reconsider the decision, ideally by allocating my matter to another conveyancer so that my remortgage can continue without further unnecessary delay.
