Firstly I would state that I very rarely complete reviews but I compelled to do so after my extremely disappointing experience with this company. I appointed them to complete conveyancing for a sale and purchase of property and ended up having to find another solicitor due to their complete failure to do anything to move my sale/purchase forward after a number of weeks! Serious lack of communication; never get calls returned, no response to emails and even when I lodge a formal complaint and promised a response within 2 weeks I got no response. Both estate agents for my sale and purchase reported the same issues. None of the assistants could answer basic questions, telling me only Caroline Stennett could respond, but not once did I manage to have any direct contact with her, neither by email or telephone. They failed to forward relevant documents for my purchase and even after 7 weeks they still had not issued the contract of sale for my sale. On advice from my estate agents as I am at risk of losing my buyer, I have found another solicitor. I will be reporting them to the ombudsman, and would strongly advise people not to do business with them.

Truly recommend CGM Southampton. Lee, my main contact, guided me with selling my residential and buying my new home. Very patient, supportive and answered all my queries throughout this process. Professional and friendly team. Also Becky was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was recommended CGM solictors by the estate agents and I'm glad they did. They were professional, approachable and had time for me as I bought my property. Karen met with me to discuss all matters of the purchase and also ensured that completion was achieved successfully as there were a number of parties involved. I would use CGM for any future property sale or purchase.

6 years ago I used CGM for the conveyancing for my house purchase, I am now selling and have now discovered that several crucial documents were never obtained by them at the time for my previous purchase, I should not have completed without these, but they went ahead anyway, my current sale is being held up because, despite my requesting these documents from them 5 weeks ago I still have nothing from them, they have stopped responding to my emails completely, Caroline Stennett the MD of CGM was the conveyancer on my purchase in 2018, she has taken no interest or action to resolve her negligence, taken no accountability for the mess I am now in.

CGM are the trustees of my grandmothers estate and hold monies realised from the sale of two properties on behalf of her 3 granddaughter which should have been paid out in the passing of our mother in 2019. Despite multiple communications we have been given excuse offer excuse and no accounts of the trust. Last year we were paid a small amount and then asked to pay it back and told it had been paid in error. We have suggested that on receipt of the accounts of the trust we will be happy to discuss any payment due and been told that until we pay the money back they cannot work on our request. Our mother has been gone for 3.5 years and we still have no idea what the situation is. CGM have been wholly unprofessional regarding this matter and we are now forced to contact the law society to try to draw this matter to a conclusion.
