We sold a probate property through Furley Page and Darren was our solicitor.
Darren made the whole process transparent and stress-free with regular updates, remote electronic document signing and quick responses to emails.
Furley Page were responsive, highly professional and I thoroughly recommend their services.

In 2017 I was hit by a car, at first I was not going to pursue a legal claim as the driver was untraced. After being told about the M.I.B scheme I contacted the Motor Insurance Bureau directly, and I started the claim process independently. It was about 3 months in, the claim handler there advised me to speak with a legal adviser as the claim was complex due to life changing injuries. After several meetings with different local firms and an ambulance chaser firm, I chose Furley Page due. This was due to how professional and compassionate Kelly came across. I took the file in to her at the Canterbury office. After a few days I got call advising the case was something they would be willing to take on, which was discussed at a team meeting. The case was passed to Ross Rowland, this was due to the loss level of the claim.
Ross was clear from the start, the terms of business and insurance policies were explained in clear terms, we were aware there was no time scales due to complexity, and also dealing with an untraced driver claim.
I had passed the case over with liability already confirmed by the MIB, it was all about level of injury and losses.
Covid delayed the case, along with slow responses, and poor rehabilitation put in place by the other-side. (FP had no say in this, as liability had already been acknowledged).
In the end the case was settled out of court at a value in excess of £1.2m.
This included Furley Pages success fee, advances, and rehabilitation costs.
We were delighted with the advice Ross gave, and we were able to make an informed decision throughout the case, especially on the first offer, of just over £700000. We were able to counter the offer at almost double, but had to take into consideration different factors which could have had a negative impact on the offer. His advice to seek further council from a barrister, just showed we made the right decision instructing the firm.
Ross’s manner was always professional, even when dealing with my emotional wife. He showed compassion while still holding that clear professional boundary. The communication was always to the point and he took on board what was said to him. He always acted in our best interest despite the firm taking on the risk of a financial loss.
He was always realistic and never misled us. His level of communication was good, he would always respond saying he had received something, would only contact us when needed. However, he also would make time; We had many conversations where I called saying, “just a quick-one”, an hour later we are still talking.
I can’t thank him enough for how he dealt with this sometimes frustrating and complex case.
Although the money helps us, it does not replace what I have lost and have to go through daily. Without him, this case would have been settled massively under value.
Ross and his team got the best outcome for my family, and I can’t thank them enough.

Simon and the team kept me up to date with the conveyancing of the house sale. The fees were close to the estimate and all went smoothly with the exchange and completion.

My experience with Furley has been quite disappointing. Their lack of due diligence and unhelpful attitude have caused me additional stress and costs. They have not taken responsibility for their actions, and their handling of the situation has been poor. I suggest reconsidering their recommendation in the future, as their customer service and problem resolution need significant improvement.

I have dyslexia and initially was overwhelmed by thought of going through the purchase of a Shared Ownership Property. Simon and his team were superb from the outset. They clearly went through every step with me, detailed what I needed to do in order. Totally impressed and grateful to them. Excellent value for money. High recommend.

Luke Page acted for me in a Will transaction. The service was given in a timely manner. I was provided with sound advice and Luke was always available when I called.
Deborah Trott also acted for me on a residential property matter. Deborah gave practical advice on various matters during the transaction. She always returned my calls and emails and had a friendly approach considering some of the difficulties of the transaction.
I would highly recommend these two lawyers again.

After my experience with FurleyPage as executor of my sister’s will, I would not
recommend appointing a lawyer as sole executor; better to avoid choosing one as
an executor at all for, for FP have taken weeks to effect what any layman could
bring about in a day or two.
FP, or its agent Heather Dunlop. took 5-6 weeks to obtain an address book needed
for a funeral to go ahead, with the result that the funeral took place eight weeks
after the death; similarly, it took three months to find a courier to ship certain items
to me here in Canada (two days only were needed for actual transport).
I have asked (six months ago and counting) for explanations/justifications of FP’s
actions or rather inactions, but my request is ignored as are other matters that have
puzzled me.
Whether or not the probate and tax report were handled in the same lackadaisical
way, I know not.
It is true that I have been forced to communicate by email only, and face-to-face I
might have been better satisfied, and then able to join those happy ‘customers’ that
have sung Heather Dunlop’s praises elsewhere; however, my overall impression is that lawyers are
just too busy to give their full attention to acting as the executor of a will.
