    Used them for conveyencing work for the purchase of my first home. The solicitor in charge at the time did a wonderful job and I was very happy with him. However he unfortunately left the firm and post closure work included transfer of title was never followed up by the relevant team. The owner Mr Shah Ali, was very keen to secure my business and take full payment, he stops communicating and doesn’t respond to a single email addressed to him thereafter. Clearly shows how interest drops once payment is made. Unscrupulous is too good a word to describe them. Please don’t engage at any cost. I am still suffering from phone calls not being answered or continued excuses and emails not being responded to. Please find another solicitor, NEVER use Waterstone legal.

    I’ve had the experience of dealing with 4 conveyancing firms but this was by far worst I’ve experienced. Do not use them at all costs. Communication is extremely poor. They only work on your case when calling and chasing every week. It took 6 months to complete a chain free purchase due to delays caused by Waterstone. To add to this, they had the cheek to tell me to pay extra 250£ for completing within 10 days of exchange. Disgusting.

    We had a very difficult process with this firm. There was a lot of confusion in regard to who was taking our case. As first time buyers, the lack of clarity and communication made the process extremely stressful. After our purchase and paying them their fees we started receiving communication from the council chasing a payment the previous owners didn’t do. This is of course not our bill but we’ve been chasing this for over 3 months, calling , sending emails to Waterstones. Incredibly time consuming and they say “they can’t do anything until the sellers respond”. This was their job in the first place and as a company they should be taking responsibility for it.
