David Brown failures & Acts for businesses, Charities & trusts

David Brown's online profile announced he 'acts for businesses, charities & trusts' yet failed to address fact my ex was a board director for the largest NFP Charity Shaw Trust in the UK. Failed to notice emergency tax codes which equated to incomes that exceed £100,000pa. Failed to address associated salary sacrifices, perks and fringe benefits within a NFP Charity. Failed to question why my ex was earning less than 10 years previous and why he'd appeared not to have had a pay rise over 4 years. Resulting in what an accountant has confirmed as fraudulent disclosure, non disclosure of relevant facts. Since raising this within a subject Access Request to which I've had no reply Wartnaby Hefford are in the process of updating their online profile.

Hostile

Very poor solicitors in terms of customer service, never returned several calls. Person answering the phone hostile, not answering generic questions that should be answered by the first point of contact. Extremely expensive, our bill nearly a thousand pounds for one meeting and a letter which apparently took 2.5hours of billable time! Shocking, would not use again.

Avoid

They have failed to act in what I believe to be a professional manner in relation to my late father's will. Their defence is that an employee left them in August 2022 having been away from the business for 18 months sick. During her absence they have had to use locum solicitors, 3 of who have had oversight of my father's will. None have completed the main tasks asked of them. I first complained in September 2022 and was assured that the issues would be dealt with. In May 2023 nothing had progressed and a further complaint was made.

The phone call I had Jeremy Wakefield today was unprofessional.

The phonecall I had with Jeremy Wakefield this afternoon was quite unprofessional and I will ensure that everyone is aware that Wartnabys I quote "are in so much demand they are not really prepared to take on anymore assignments" so why didn't the receptionist just say to me on my initial conversation with her that they were not taking anymore casework. In my opinion disgraceful.

Horrible people. Very insensitive and only looking out for their own financial gain. STAY AWAY! - * IF I COULD LEAVE 1

Awful experience. My sister and I are grieving. Shani Carr clearly didn't read the will before meeting with us and her main objective was how to use the will to benefit herself and firm. Her secretary, 'Paula's was very rude and judgemental of appearance. STAY AWAY !
