Excellent probate service

Having had trouble finding a decent local solicitor Dowse and Co was recommended to me some time ago. When my wife died and i needed to deal with her will, I phoned and was immediately seen in person by Paul Gilbert. He was the ideal person to both respect my bereavement but also make sureI followed the right steps. He was very responsive to all my queries and dealt with every stage of the process of securing probate in a friendly and efficient manner. He submitted the documents to secure the Grant of Probate promptly and I received the grant within two months. A very speedy turnaround partly due to Paul's skillful application. I would recommend Dowse and Co unreservedly.

Victory from the jaws of defeat!

When I first approached Dowse & Co, my situation was very bad indeed and I was facing eviction from my property with no Solicitor and almost no time to prepare properly. Finding a Solicitor to take on a housing eviction case like mine on Legal Aid seemed almost impossible and after many hours phoning, scanning documents, answering questions, filling out long forms etc to no avail, it was Dowse & Co who finally took me on and for that I was very grateful.

My Solicitor was Parveen Akhtar. In Parveen's bio on the Dowse & Co website it says: 'She specialises in social housing law, in particular defending possession proceedings involving invalid notices...' I can confirm this is true as this is exactly what she did for me. For a housing eviction case it was very complicated and went through several stages but she really did an excellent job under the circumstances, starting with getting the proceedings postponed so we had enough time to submit a good defence. She was very calm and measured and didn't give much away, which seemed a little frustrating at the time but in hindsight, she was right to take things just one step at a time and in terms of the result (a win with costs awarded too), I really couldn't have asked for anything more.

I would also like to mention the Barrister Parveen brought in for my case, Jared Norman from Field Court Chambers. He also did a really great job when he was called upon, both in the hearings and working on my defence with Parveen.

Very highly recommended!

High Expectations Met always

I have been with this company since 2017 ongoing every case I’ve has is always successful and put in the right direction.

This Solictors firm does not get enough credit they work really hard to give the best results to there clients and don’t pass you on they are very consistent.

If this company had a larger office it would be number one in England I have used a lot of firms and none can match up or come close to the devotion full to their clients.

Landlord illegal eviction

Having applied via the Pro Bono Unit for assistance regarding a long standing case of Landlord Illegal eviction and harassment. My case was quickly picked up by a Barrister and passed to Dowes & Co Solicitors.

From initial contact to final successful judgment for illegal eviction and harassment, Dowes & Co including Barrister Mr Paxi-Cato acted exceptionally and were mindful of my costs and liabilities in regards of the No win - No fee case.

Highly recommended, especially if as a tennant you are negotiating the mind field of red tape and disinterest shown by the vast selection of other law firms I previously contacted.

I wouldn’t hesitate in using the services of Dowes & Co or Mr Paxi-Cato in the future.
