Ferns

When my husband died a year ago I felt overwhelmed at the idea of applying for probate so phoned several firms of solicitors to ask the procedure and how much it would cost for them to do this for me. The amounts quoted were very varied and phenomenal in price. My husband's was not a large estate.
When however I phoned Ferns the situation was completely different. The other firms were presuming I was going to use them to administer the whole estate and quoted me accordingly. I didn't really know what i was doing, so would have gone along with them. Ferns however suggested that for a fraction of the price of the others they could complete the forms and apply for probate for me and then all I would have to do would be to distribute the estate. This was ideal! They had a set fee for this which is displayed on their website. The probate office questioned a codicil to my husband's will and an affidavit by the witnesses was needed. Ferns dealt with all of this.
I could not be more pleased from start to finish and they are the most approachable firm of solicitors I have ever come across. I thoroughly recommend them to anyone.
