Realistic exposition of the situation

Aysha was not only a consummate professional but also very compassionate. I felt the professional manner adopted was exemplary in what can only be described as a tricky situation to deal with.

Responsive, trustworthy guidance on urgent family finance matter

Having previously sought support from Geldards during my divorce, I didn’t hesitate to contact Natalie Hayden-Yeung again when an urgent matter came up. While I had the pleasure of working with Natalie once more, due to workload, Aysha Chouhdary kindly and seamlessly picked things up at short notice—with Natalie still staying close to the progress.

It was reassuring to access qualified and experienced help to guide me through the legal intricacies of what was ultimately a relatively narrow matter. Thanks to their support, we avoided the need to go to court, and the hearing was vacated at short notice. I felt supported and reliably informed throughout.

Natalie and Aysha work in similar, client-focused ways, and I’ve also had positive experiences with Claire Dean and Ranjit Kaur from the wider family team. In my experience, the team works incredibly well together—challenging ideas constructively, exploring all options, and consistently seeking the best outcome. That was absolutely the case this time, too.

What really matters to me is that while Natalie and Aysha act in my best interests, they do so with integrity, care, and approachability—even when delivering difficult advice but, they strike the right balance and keep costs in mind at every step.

I could not have been in better hands

I came to Geldards Family having had a bruising, expensive and throughly unpleasant experience with another leading family law firm. I had not been able to trust the solicitors who handled my case to work in my best interests and came to believe that revenue generation was more important to them than obtaining a satisfactory divorce and settlement for me.

I sought advice from Geldards about my case and recounted my previous experience, and was immediately reassured about how my case could be handled differently and would lead to a satisfactory outcome.

The team comprised Sam Mason as my main solicitor, with Fiona Apthorpe as the overarching senior lead and Lauren May in very active support. Very quickly, they established a very agreeable professional and sympathetic personal relationship. I could not have hoped for a more balanced, capable and genuinely engaged team which not only guided my steps with sensitivity and thorough professionalism, but also provided very shrewd, legally exact and timely advice. Most importantly, they were all readily available to respond to my concerns and requirements, were always ready to talk on the phone or by video and discussed the best way forward with me at each stage. Fiona as top cover exercised a light but entirely reassuring and authoritative touch.

Sam Mason is a clear-headed, highly accomplished and outcome-driven legal professional who rapidly got up to speed with my case and immediately gained traction and leverage in dealing with the other side's solicitors. He is a man of integrity, purpose and sound common sense, with fluent verbal and written communication skills and personal presence. As such, I was able and happy to rely on both his legal and tactical advice without qualification. He had the patience and temperament to explain clearly and firmly where it might be better to take the routes recommended by him; conversely, he was quick to adapt when better solutions emerged in discussion and I admired and appreciated his ability to change his views in the light of fresh information or thinking.

He handled every aspect of my case with calm assurance, scrupulous attention to detail and unflagging energy., He prepared me comprehensively for a private FDR, recommended and briefed a very able barrister and took me through the whole process with assurance, mature judgement and a rigorous approach that resulted in a satisfactory outcome, despite considerable complexities and complications introduced by the other side. He was good company, a staunch ally and a very effective advocate.

Overall, I was in close contact with Sam throughout this long, vexatious process and appreciated his companionship and careful attention to my every need, worry and inquiry. He always let me know the state of play, was objective and forthright, and assiduous in letting me know what various services would cost me before proceeding. Indeed, he always advised me about how to proceed in the most cost-effective manner and never failed to add value. He provided an excellent service, was cheerful and positive throughout and never hesitated to refer to Fiona or other experts when required. Needless to say, I would not hesitate one second to recommend him (and the team) to anyone needing an exceptional family law solicitor whom they can trust implicitly to act in their best interests and guide their steps with confident assurance.

Marriage closure and finance order.

Geldards were recommended to me and from my initial meeting and instruction I have had excellent service. Great communication, prompt service and always kept me up to date with correspondence and change. Aysha and Kate have been supportive every step of the way and it has been an emotional and difficult time. They have given me the confidence with their support, to overcome the many challenges we faced. I would recommend them to anyone looking for an efficient and class service. Thanks both for all your support.

This is a very good law firm. Speaking to barrister Douglas Hammond at a SEN charity law seminar helped me to pursue the idea of steering my national children’s disability inclusion campaign into legal action.
