Very poor experience with Langfield Law.
I was represented through Legal Aid at Heathrow Police Station but received no advice, no contact details, and no confirmation of which firm was actually representing me. After the interview, I received absolutely no follow-up communication. It took me 5 weeks — with the help of the police — just to find out that Langfield Law was the firm involved. I then contacted them myself for basic information, including confirmation that my case was closed with No Further Action (NFA). When I eventually got through to the managing partner, I was met with a defensive and hostile response. He said I should be “happy” with the NFA, refused to assist in obtaining the interview audio, and quoted £350+VAT to get it — only to change that to £700+VAT the very next day with no explanation. All I asked for was written confirmation of NFA from both police forces involved, a request to the police for the interview audio, and an apology for the total lack of communication. Instead, I was treated dismissively and received no support. I’m now handling the matter myself and will be escalating the issue to the Legal Ombudsman. I do not recommend this firm to anyone seeking professional, transparent, or supportive legal aid services.
