About this branch

Description

Sundeep qualified as a solicitor in 1992. He then worked in a practice in Basildon where he conducted litigation for a well known building society. From 1994 to 1999, Sundeep worked for a criminal law department of a major firm in Harrow, Middlesex. There Sundeep rose to become head of the criminal department. He also qualified as a Duty Solicitor in relation to both police stations and courts. ​In 1999 Sundeep setup his own firm practicing Criminal and Employment law. ​Sundeep qualified as a solicitor advocate in 2004 and conducts jury trials at the Crown Court. ​In 2005 Sundeep qualified as an accredited mediator with the Centre of Effective Dispute Resolution which is a world leader in this field. ​Sundeep was elected as Chairman of the Society of Asian Lawyers in July 2008 and served in the position until September 2010. ​In April 2010 Sundeep was appointed as a Member of the Law Society Council of England and Wales. His constituency is Black Minority Ethnic and he covers diversity issues within the profession. ​In September 2010 Sundeep was appointed to the Law Society’s Equality and Diversity Committee until his term came to an end in September 2016. ​In December 2010 he was appointed to the Employment Law Committee of the Law Society. ​In September 2011 Sundeep was elected as a member of the Law Society’s Regulatory Affairs Board and became its first BAME Chairman in September 2016, a position he held until 2018. ​Sundeep Bhatia also writes for the Solicitors Journal and is often quoted in the Law Society Gazette. ​Sundeep lives with his wife Namita, their twins and two pet reeves turtles. He is passionate about cars, formula one and music of all kinds.
