This is the first time Wake Smith has acted for the Council. It was a medium size property acquisition and leaseback. The work was done well within the timescales and we enjoyed working with Neil (Salter). We found him responsive, helpful and thorough on the legal side of things. He was also, pleasingly, keen to stick to the fee quote so far as he was able. So, while the fee was larger than quoted, the uplift was for understandable and justifiable reasons. As ever with a new legal relationship, we needed to work out a few practical matters but this was done without fuss. Neil was also proactive in contacting me to work out an internal issue at the Council's end which was affecting the flow of our instructions to him which was appreciated. All in all, we would be happy to work with Wake Smith again should the need arise.

We have just completed our sale and purchase of our property. I have had some bad experiences with solicitors in the past with one going bankrupt halfway through a transaction and another leaving us without a new home guarantee, we found out several years on when we had serious structural problems and could not claim as there was no policy in place. I have had numerous other problems. I was recommended Best Solicitors and specifically Elizabeth. Elizabeth diligently listened to our needs, especially that I wanted to being kept up to date at every step of the way. We wanted to be able to quickly able to react. Elizabeth always did this and made the process very smooth. It was important as we were selling our French property at the same time, stress could have been off the scale. We got great advice all the way and was always contactable. It was reassuring and stress was kept under control. If Elizabeth portrays the same professionalism and humour to her team that she did to us, then Best Solicitors would be the way to go for all legal matters. In between this we also did our wills with her colleague (Alison) who was equally knowledgeable and diligent throughout this process. I would say to all the team at Best, well done and keep up the excellent work.
