This area covers disputes and advice about housing situations for private individuals, including tenancy rights, homelessness, eviction and possession, repairs, and housing benefit or rent issues. A solicitor helps clients prepare and respond to court proceedings, draft or review tenancy documents, negotiate with landlords or local authorities, and advise on protections under housing and anti-homelessness legislation. It also includes assistance with applications for discharged or refused housing support and guidance on remedies when housing standards are failing or unsafe.
The solicitor ensures timely, legally precise actions around eviction, possession petitions, and homelessness applications, where delays or missteps can lead to loss of housing. They handle court papers, represent or advise at hearings, and coordinate with housing authorities, landlords, and tenants to secure the client’s position, while safeguarding rights under the Housing Act 1988 and related housing legislation and asylum or welfare considerations if applicable.

Tagged solicitor Leona Ho
We have used Leona several times over the years for conveyancing and to draw up contracts. When we first met her several years ago, she was a trainee whose talent, work ethic and attention to detail was remarkable. We recently had a house to sell so we tracked Leona down to secure her amazing services for conveyancing. As always, she did not disappoint and the process was smooth and efficient. Leona is a very impressive legal professional but aside from her tremendous skill and knowledge, it's her warm personality and friendly manner that makes her such a pleasure to work with. We are not surprised that she recently won 'Lawyer of the Year' - very well deserved in our view.
