This area covers the time limits for bringing maritime claims in England and Wales, including how long a claimant has to sue for injuries, damage, or contractual breaches arising at sea or relating to sea-facing activities. It involves understanding whether the claim is governed by contract, tort, or specific maritime regimes, and the consequence of missing a deadline. A solicitor in this area advises on meeting or extending these deadlines, prepares statements of claim, and helps ensure the claim is brought within the prescribed period to avoid a time bar.
