Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) covers appointing someone you trust to handle your money, property and personal care if you lose capacity, or to help you while you can still cope. A solicitor drafts the LPA, explains the scope (property and financial affairs; health and welfare), helps register with the Office of the Public Guardian, checks capacity, and guides on revocation or replacement. The solicitor also explains safeguards, potential conflicts of interest, and ensures the document meets statutory requirements.
