This area covers particularly intricate charging for wills, trusts and probate work where standard fees do not reflect the complexity of the matter. A solicitor in this field helps with identifying and negotiating appropriate remuneration for complicated administrations, such as multiple beneficiaries, disputed executorship, significant Inheritance Tax considerations, or bespoke trust structures. They draft or review fee arrangements, ensure compliance with regulatory expectations, and advise on potential risk to executors and beneficiaries. It may influence whether a matter is taxed as a fixed or time-based charge.

“Suzi was super efficient and vet easy to talk to about my wishes and options for my will. I thought overall it was expensive at £462 but the job was done quickly and efficiently despite it being over the Christmas period. ”

“I honestly cannot recommend Michael highly enough. The professional and empathetic support he provided, made the most difficult time of my life, more bearable. I enlisted Michael's help when my partner died without a will. We owned a house together, and, as you would expect, our lives were inextricably linked. I did not know where I stood or what would happen, which felt very scary at a time when my world had already been turned upside down. Michael takes a holistic approach to his cases, expertly advising on the legalities but also taking account of the emotions of the situation. After our first meeting, I immediately felt more informed on the situation and also reassured that whatever was going to happen I would have Michael in my corner to help. His communication was excellent throughout and very proactive. In the end, everything was resolved amicably but the peace of mind it gave me knowing I had Michael to help was invaluable to me. I honestly don't know how I would have coped without his advice and support. Thankyou Michael ”
