Probate Instructions covers arranging and guiding the process of applying for a grant of probate after a death, and administering the estate in England. A solicitor in this area drafts or reviews the probate papers, helps identify the executor(s), collects and values assets, settles Inheritance Tax and other liabilities, contacts banks and beneficiaries, and registers the grant with the Probate Registry. They also provide practical steps for dealing with estate assets, debts and distribution in line with the deceased’s will or the rules of intestacy.
The process hinges on time-sensitive steps such as notifying HMRC, obtaining the Grant of Probate, and distributing assets. A solicitor ensures the correct forms are completed, handles any challenges or disputes, and coordinates with executors and beneficiaries to protect the estate from missteps, delays, or misdelivery of funds.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Shauna Telford of Amphlett Lissimore for getting me through the daunting world of Probate. Having thought I could start the process myself, I soon realised I was out of my depth and so grateful to you Shauna for picking up the pieces and doing the job properly with so much knowledge, attention to detail and professionalism. I could not have done this without you. It was lovely to meet you Shauna, though my head did spin a bit with all that information, but patience and reassurance from yourself helped me through and we did it! Can’t thank you enough.

Tagged solicitor Tracy Haddock
An easy company to deal with . I was appointed a representative (Tracy Haddock). Tracy was professional at all times . Tracy was also sympathetic during the probate process and understanding of the complexities involved. I received timely communications throughout the whole process which helped put me at ease knowing that matters were progressing . I really appreciate Tracy' help and advice in dealing with all aspects on my late mother's estate and highly recommend both Tracy and JCP Solicitors Ltd.
