Top 10 of 3,713 law firms for Transfers of Equity and Probate Transfers, Wills, Trusts & Probate

Law firms ranked by client reviews

Transfers of equity and probate transfers cover changing ownership in a property and handling the administration of someone’s estate after death. A solicitor in this area drafts and executes deeds to change who holds the title, lodges documents with HM Land Registry, and coordinates with lenders where there is a mortgage. For probate, they apply for the grant of probate or letters of administration, identify assets and debts, pay liabilities, and distribute assets to beneficiaries. Time limits and tax rules shape the process.

Where a solicitor protects your position

The specific steps include drafting a transfer deed or disposition, arranging the transfer of equity, managing re-registration of title with HM Land Registry, and obtaining consent from lenders where required. In probate matters, the solicitor collects assets, pays debts, communicates with potential creditors, completes Inheritance Tax forms, and issues the grant of probate or letters of administration to enable the estate to be settled. These matters hinge on deadlines and the proper handling of substantial assets and beneficiaries.

Rachael Stokes

Tagged solicitor Rachael Stokes

Rachael was able to present her obviously thorough understanding of the law using straightforward and clear language. She drew up my will and LPAs and whenever we communicated (whether in person, by phone or email) I received a warm welcome. I also had the sense that my thoughts and feelings were being valued, felt confident in Rachael’s professionalism and at all times understood what was happening. Excellent!

Corrine Seabourne

Tagged solicitor Corrine Seabourne

My wife and I needed to update our Wills and to learn if changing the tenancy of our main residence would be beneficial. We each filled in Alsters Kelley's preliminary questionnaire. In our first meeting (one hour) Corrine explained all we needed to know. Two weeks later we received drafts of the Wills in the post, together with Corrine’s explanatory (and confirmatory) letter. Four weeks after that we signed the tenancy severance document and our Wills in a brief, final meeting. Interspersed amongst the above events were numerous emailed and telephoned queries from myself and my wife to Corrine and her legal secretary Ella, all rapidly resolved.
