Will Aid covers the arranging of simple, legally valid wills, and related guidance on estate planning, for people who may not otherwise secure such advice. A solicitor practising in this area drafts the will, ensures the correct execution steps (including witnessing and storage), and advises on executors, risk areas in an estate, and basic tax considerations. In practice, solicitors coordinate with the charity running Will Aid to offer a reduced-cost or pro bono service, while ensuring the client’s wishes are clearly recorded and legally effective.

“We have recently used the Mapperley branch to sort out Grant of Probate and will also be using them for conveyancing. Jasmin Marshall who dealt with the probate was very professional but lovely at the same time. She put us at ease at what was a difficult time for us, and made the whole process much less painful. From start to finish it only took 3 weeks for probate to be granted and during that time we were kept fully informed. I can’t thank Jasmin and the team enough for what they did.”

“I had previously dealt with Kalim in relation to the sale of my late father’s property, so when it came to handling the sale of my late mother’s property, I did not hesitate to instruct him again. Kalim was thorough, efficient, communicative and professional throughout the entire process. He kept me updated regularly, handled matters promptly. It was genuinely a pleasure dealing with Kalim and I am extremely grateful for all of his help and support. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and knowledgeable solicitor, and I will definitely use him again in the future.”

    Frequently asked questions

    How are these solicitors ranked?

Rankings are worked out mainly from client reviews: the ratings clients give and how recent the reviews are, with reviews about Will Aid counting most. We also take into account how much of a firm's work is in Will Aid.
