From start to finish I felt that Makin Dixon really cared about my case. They did everything they could to keep me updated with what was happening, and were efficient and organised. They 'bent over backwards' to make the whole court journey as painless as possible and really showed I was important to them. Although I did not get the outcome that I wanted Makin Dixon did everything they could against an antiquated court system. Aneka and Jane were amazing!!

I’ve used Makin and Dixon on a number of occasions over the years for a children matter , I find them reliable and professional and trustworthy, my solicitor was Aneka Shoukat she’s a credit to the company, I’ve suffered with domestic abuse and I had no confidence when I first met with her but now she’s given me the strength and confidence back, she’s helpful caring and she understands you without no judgement she’s not just a solicitor but she was more like a friend, she’s helped me get the justice I deserved. I would 100 percent recommend Makin and Dixon for a great communication fast approach, Thank you once again to Aneka Shoukat

Going to court to keep an existing court order in place in my experience is a daunting and anxious time. Aneka Shoukat from Makin and Dixon solicitors made this a whole lot easier with her professionalism, knowledge and reassurance. She represented me at court and was nothing short of amazing. We got the right and fair outcome with no tangible change to the existing court order in terms of live with and actual quality time I spend with my daughter. Very satisfied with my matter to which Aneka at Makin and Dixon handled supurbly.

After 8 weeks of phoning them and leaving messages and each time being told “ The person dealing with this “ will call you back ! You guessed it no one at all had the decency to ring me back . It seems if your trying to complain about a issue you have with their service of which they had been paid but turns out did not do correctly, they have little interest in sorting this out . Seems I will have to contact the ombudsman to assist with this matter. Totally disappointed with them .

After a recent breakdown with my x partner I was in need of a reputable solicitor to help me with the process of a child arrangement order. I was recommended Makin and Dixon by a friend who had used them previously as I was going round in circles trying to find a solicitor to help who would actually help me rather than just look at me with money signs in their eyes.
Straight away Makin and Dixon put me at ease when I contacted them through their website. They listened to me explain what was happening and gave me options going forward and how much it would cost. From there I was put forward to Aneka Shoukat from the keighley branch who went through all the forms I had received, listened to the background of the case and advised me going forward how she would help. The first dispute resolution hearing was in only a few days from first contact with her, but she put my mind at ease, explained what would happen and how she would support me going forward.
From the first time I spoke to Aneka I knew she was the lady to help me, she was personable, listened to everything I put forward and didn’t beat around the when she talked to me. Everything was straight forward from beginning to end. She supported me and the children in one of the most anxious times of my life. She went above and beyond from my first expectations with her, listened to me cry, rant, be elated, feel worried and helped me so well along this journey.
Yes solicitors do cost a lot of money, but in reality I could not of done this without the support and kindness of Aneka as she helped with things I wouldn’t of pushed for in the long run. From paperwork and statements and making sure everything was done on time for the court her focus was always to help me and make sure everything ran smoothly. Throughout all this I didn’t feel like I was dealing with a solicitor but more of a friend which I felt we became at the end over the 12 months. Nothing was too much trouble, she was always available for calls and emails and I never felt I was in limbo. She got the results we wanted and was always positive we would get those results.
Hopefully I won’t need to use her services again, but if I do then I would be straight back on the phone without any hesitation. Honestly the most loveliest of ladies and high recommended company I have had the pleasure to deal with.

I’ve recently been in family court for the past two years nearly & my stress levels/anxiety were through the roof. Aneka Shoukat supported my case all the way through & went above & beyond all my expectations. Everything was explained fully constantly as I found it so overwhelming & Aneka was so kind, caring, empathetic, always contactable & supportive which helped me get through it with a positive outcome. I’d like to thank this young lady for helping me out with my divorce.
When I first spoke to Aneka my initial thoughts where that she was honest and told it like it was.
During the last year and getting threatened with court appearances from the soon to be ex wife,every month regarding signing the house over to her early,it all got very stressful,Aneka put me at ease and just sorted everything out.
Aneka is helpful,knowledgeable and most of all I thought she was in my corner .
I’d even say if I got divorced again mmm,I’d get in touch with Aneka again lol.
