Mara joined Wolferstans in May 2018 as a New Client Coordinator and was promoted to Paralegal in August 2020, where she works within the Employment and Education team. More recently, Mara transitioned to the role of HR Advisor within the team, utilising her CIPD qualification and further expanding her expertise in Employment Law and Human Resources. Based in the Plymouth Branch, Mara provides practical HR advice and support to schools, academies, and businesses on a range of employment matters. This includes managing absence, conducting investigations, and handling disciplinary and grievance hearings and procedures, as well as advising clients on best practices and ensuring fair and consistent processes are followed.     Mara was fantastic

    Mara was able to provide quick and efficient advice for us on an employment matter. We were able to arrange an urgent TEAMS meeting and this was then followed up with a email response. Mara was quick to advise, not only advising on the situation but providing guidance on how we as a company could improve our employment terms along the way.     Approachable, friendly & very helpful.

    Having resigned a high profile position I found myself in a scenario where my employer was trying to back out of their contractual responsibilities & using implied threats as a blunt instrument to deter me from expecting notice pay. An email outlining the issue followed by a friendly, helpful phone call from Mara Cunha provided me with options to consider & practical advice.     Advice & Settlement Agreement

    I needed help and advice on an employment matter, and had spoken to a few different lawyers and solicitors. I was in the process of things progressing but I wanted someone more local to me incase things progressed in a different direction, and that had clear and understandable pricing so I knew how to proceed without the fear of unexpected financial burdens. My initial contact was with Mara, she was quick to respond, with clear, direct and helpful advice. Their pricing structure put me at ease because I knew exactly where I would stand and what I would have to pay, and what my Employer would pay. I then dealt with Victoria, who again was quick and clear with finalising it all. They made an unpleasant and stressful situation much easier to deal with. I would highly recommend.
