We had a complicated freehold/leasehold situation with a maisonette with two freeholds and no leasehold in place. This meant that mortgage providers would not touch it which would dramatically effect the sale price. My estate agent recommended Thackery Williams as experts in freehold/leasehold situations. I was not disappointed with this recommendation. From the first contact they gave the the owner of the other freehold and myself some great advice and guidance for how to set up a new joint freehold with two separate 999 leaseholds to put the property in an extremely favourable position to sell and maximise profit. I dealt with Gloria Jackson who then went on maternity and David Gibson took over. Both were very prompt at coming back to queries and both were clearly very knowledgeable. David managed most of the case and I was extremely impressed with the level of service and standard of work done on our case. He successfully drew up the new freehold and leasehold documents carefully listening to what we wanted and checking that we were happy at each point. He also sorted through third parties new building drawing plans and the setting up of a company for the freehold. All was done in good time and it was great not to have to chase a solicitor (as I have had to with some many others). Price seemed fair compared to the rest of the market. We used Thackray Williams' services successfully several years ago for a lease extension and have recently done so again for a house sale and purchase. The fantastic duo of Samantha Turnbull and Ursula Puch were not put off their game, despite a long process caused by two buyers pulling out. They provided reassurance and kept us informed throughout and did a thorough and efficient job, looking into all potential issues and keeping us on track.
