Now at risk of significant financial loss

My experience with Chester & Co Solicitors was poor and fell significantly below what I would reasonably expect from a regulated firm. One transaction was delayed for over a year. Throughout this period, I was repeatedly advised that the buyer’s solicitor was hindering progress. I have since been informed directly by the buyer’s solicitor that they had in fact been actively chasing Chester & Co for several months, and that the lease documentation produced was not fit for purpose for mortgage lender approval due to missing and incomplete clauses. As a result, the documentation could not be submitted to the lender and exchange could not proceed within a reasonable timeframe. More recently, the firm declined to complete two further company property sales due to concerns relating to the personal bankruptcy of a former director, despite the company being a separate legal entity and that individual no longer holding a directorial role. Independent legal advice subsequently obtained confirmed that this should not have prevented the firm from acting on behalf of the company. Overall, the service was characterised by excessive and avoidable delay, inadequate legal work, and unclear communication about the causes of that delay. This resulted in financial loss and the need to instruct another firm to rectify the issues and progress the transactions. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm.

smooth property sale

I recently used Chester & Co for the conveyancing for my flat sale. The overall process was a smooth and reasonably straightforward process. There ware a couple of complications associated with the lease which were dealt with extremely well and in a timely manner. Communication with Holly and her team was excellent and they kept me updated throughout the whole process. I would definitely recommend Chester & Co to others.

Fantastic Team, a pleasure to deal with :)

Holly & her Team were superb, very knowledgeable and quick tyo respond. I have worked with solicitors in the past and have been forever chasing and waiting. This was not the case with Chester & Co. Holly made me feel comfortable and confident in putting my trust in her to manage our house purchase, she was a pleasure to deal with and very personable. We have waited a long time (due to Land Registry),but it has honestly been a pleasure and not stressful due to the communication throughout. And I cannot thank Holly enough for pushing through the exchange and completion to get us in before Christmas and before my offer expired, she really has been quite amazing. Thank you so much :)

Extremely disappointed

We have had an extremely disappointing experience working with Holly as our solicitor. Throughout the process, her lack of responsiveness has caused us significant stress and frustration. Emails often went unanswered for extended periods, and when we did receive a reply, the communication was vague and lacked the clarity we needed to make informed decisions. This ongoing lack of engagement and transparency has taken a real toll on our well being. Dealing with legal matters is stressful enough without having to constantly chase your solicitor for updates or clarification. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Holly’s services to anyone seeking clear, timely, and professional legal support.
