Charlotte studied LLB at Glasgow Caledonian University and graduated in 2022 with a First Class Honours degree. Thereafter, she went to do the Diploma at the University of Strathclyde. During her time on the Diploma, she worked part-time as a Legal Assistant at Jones Whyte, before starting her traineeship in June 2023. Currently, Charlotte works within the Litigation/ Personal Injury department and deals specifically with noise-induced hearing loss claims. She looks to recover compensation for those who have suffered hearing loss as a result of their noisy working environment. Charlotte is really enjoying this role and it has allowed her to learn a lot about the litigation process. For the second seat of her traineeship, she will join the Medical Negligence department. “The most rewarding part of my role is getting to speak with clients and to help obtain compensation on their behalf.”

    Medical Negligence case

    For almost three years Jones Whyte supported me through a medical negligence case. Initially, I found discussing my case extremely difficult: Not only was it hugely triggering for me emotionally, I was also embarrassed (for my GPs!) to recount how utterly woeful my treatment had been. However, Jones Whyte was fully supportive both legally and emotionally from the outset. This combination was critical to securing the best possible outcome for me. The communication at every stage was excellent and if I was ever in any doubt, they were only a phone call/email away and always happy to field and answer queries promptly. After much hard work investigating, arranging, compiling and presenting my case to the defendants Jones Whyte secured a very good out of court settlement for me. I would thoroughly recommend this firm. Furthermore, I cannot praise the diligence and care Charlotte displayed throughout the process enough – she was a safe pair of hands in my time of need.
