Following a successful career in the Royal Navy, Alistair Robertson-Göpffarth joined a leading south coast law firm and after qualification worked as as a solicitor in the International Private Client team. In March 2018 he qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser and in October 2020 as a Notary Public. Alistair assists both domestic and international clients with preparing wills and advises on a wide range of estate cases, which include the administration of estates where assets are located in multiple jurisdictions. To complement Alistair’s specialism, Alistair speaks fluent German and has a working knowledge of Dutch. Recent work •Attending to an English intestate estate where the deceased was domiciled in England and held assets abroad. •Administering the overseas assets of an individual who passed away domiciled in South Africa leaving assets in England, Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Hong Kong. •Preparing a will for a foreign national, which included advice on the client’s domicile, UK inheritance tax and will structuring. Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation. Member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. Member of the Notaries Society.
