Alex is a solicitor and head of the Disputes and Litigation team having joined Bright Solicitors in November 2020. Prior to joining Bright Solicitors, Alex worked in a top ten offshore law firm in the Channel Islands before returning to his home city of Plymouth. Alex has experience in a wide range of litigation matters but now predominately advises clients in connection with contentious property matters. This includes matters arising from disputed rights of way, boundary issues together with commercial property matters. In particular, Alex regularly advises both landlords and tenants in connection with dilapidations, breach of covenant, forfeiture and break notice matters. In addition to contentious property matters, Alex also regularly acts for clients in connection with professional negligence and contract disputes together with partnership and Company issues. Alex firmly believes in a client focussed approach. He tries to resolve disputes, where appropriate, by means of alternative dispute resolution but where resolution is not found, he supports clients through the entire court process.

    I required a Charge on a property. First contact was with Alex Jeffery whom explained the process and broke it down for me. I was signposted to Julie Milton, she made the process clear and explained everything for me to understand clearly and professionally. Communication was great and contacting her with any question was never a problem and always got a swift reply either by herself or Chloe Amouroux. They delt with problems from the other parties and always kept me updated And not forgetting the front colleague's whom made you feel relaxed when you walked into the office Highly recommend Bright LLP outstanding service

    Excellent service

    Advised by our local solicitor to find a litigation solicitor to take on our case. Found Bright Solicitors via an online search. We dealt with two professionals in the Plymouth branch via telephone communications. Both very helpful and efficient, as was the very pleasant receptionist (or whoever takes calls and connects to appropriate person).

    Sound advice

    We asked Bright Solicitors to act for us to challenge an unfair court order that had been against us without our knowledge and thanks to their efforts this was successfully set aside. Further complex issues connected with this arose and we were supported in this by the Head of Litigation Alex Jeffery. We found Alex to be extremely knowledgable, he gave sound advice that was always in our best interests and was always available and responsive to any questions or issues that arose. This was very reassuring at a difficult and emotionally draining time

    One of the many things we really liked about this team is that they replied to our emails within the same day and were always accessible via the phone. Aimee Sansom and Penny Carn pre-prepared all the work during our mortgage application. When the mortgage funds got approved, the exchange of contracts happened within a week and a half. Since we were first time buyers, we had lots of questions and Penny and Aimee were truly kind to take us through the process in a clear, concise, and friendly manner. At times we were nervous, and they never failed to provide us with the much needed reassurance and moral support. Once the purchase was complete, there was a minor unforeseen issue and Alex Jeffery resolved it free of charge in a swift manner. Bright Solicitors is a great team which comes with our highest recommendation.
